Countdown to School-23 Days!

Dear St. James Families,

Welcome to the beginning of the eblasts that you will be receiving every Sunday from our wonderful Board Secretary, Emily Mottern. In it you will find news from me, as well as important dates, upcoming events and Weekly Recaps from our Specials Teachers– Makerspace, our STEM initiative, Music, Handwriting and Outdoor Classroom. Ms. Library, Sallie Duncan, will be sending hers directly to you. These eblasts are an important method of communication to inform our families of all things St. James and a great way to stay connected and engaged.

This year we are celebrating our 50th year anniversary as a Preschool. It’s such a wonderful testament to all the directors and staff who have made this Preschool the loving place to learn that it is.

This week you will be receiving a letter from me outlining important dates that are upcoming as well as the parent calendar, the carpool map, and your child’s classroom assignment. These classroom placements were assigned by me with the input of the teachers, parents, consideration of friends in the class, and my firm belief that this was the best teacher for your child. Just be assured that all was done in the best interest of your child and your family.

The teachers will be in their classrooms in the next few weeks getting ready for the children to come to the Get Acquainted Parties on the 31st and the 1st. You will receive an invitation to the party from the teacher this week informing you of the day and time of the party. There you will be given a packet of information from them which will include their bio, class expectations, a parent handbook, name badges for your child to wear the first week of school with the instructions on how to fill them out and other materials they may see fit.

In addition, on that day you will also be given a yard sign that says “Proud to be a St. James Family!” and celebrates our 50th year anniversary as a preschool. You will also be asked to give us your child’s t-shirt size so that we can order shirts to celebrate this wonderful accomplishment. The children will be wearing them every Friday, our Spirit Day, during the fall.

We are thrilled to have everyone back and to welcome our new families! The teachers and I are looking forward to a terrific new school year and meeting you and your children.

Take care and Happy Sunday, we will see you soon.
