Community Helper Month

Dear St. James’ Families,

What wonderful weather we are having right now! It was especially delightful for our Taco Truck night as we were able to be outside to enjoy each other’s company and see the projects and art that our children had worked so hard on. Thank you to all who came, thereby enabling us to share with you our curriculum for Hispanic Heritage month.

This month we are honoring our Community Helpers. Hopefully, you all have had a chance to view the St. James Preschool Instagram page where there is a video and pictures of the children’s visit with Sandy Springs Police Officer Craig. The children received sticker badges and were treated to an explanation of what Officer Craig carried on his belt and vest as well as the siren and flashing blue lights on his car. They will also be visiting the Culture Inclusion classroom at school wherein they will learn about some of the occupations of people in our community. We will also be fortunate to have a visit from a Sandy Springs Fire Marshall, Fireman, and Truck on the 21st.

Looking ahead, we will have Family Week on October 24th, October 26th, and 27th. Your child’s teacher will let you know on what day the class is scheduled to come for a nighttime visit to the school. You will then be able to see the work your child has done as well as some things they have been working on as a class. Everyone is welcome, including siblings and grandparents, to come to tour the classrooms and school at your scheduled time.

Halloween parties are scheduled for the 28th and 31st. Please look to your teacher to tell you who is invited to these parties.

Remember every Friday this year is spirit day! Your children are invited to wear the blue St. James shirt every Friday. We have more available in the office if you haven’t received one.

Thank you for all that you do and for allowing us to teach your children,

Susan Viers
